South Jordan Quick Facts
South Jordan Police Department Registration
Sex offenders who live, work, or attend school in South Jordan must register with the South Jordan Police Department. The department's website is at sjc.utah.gov/police. Utah law requires registration twice per year, timed to the registrant's birth month. The second check-in falls six months after the first. Any change to address, vehicles, phone numbers, internet identifiers, employment, or other required data must be reported to the department within 3 business days of that change.
If you are moving to South Jordan from another state, you must register in Utah within 10 days of arriving. Utah applies its own registration rules once you are in the state. Your prior state's requirements do not govern your Utah registration obligations. The South Jordan PD processes both new registrations and routine renewals. Contact the department before your first visit to confirm what documents you need to bring.
Failing to register or report changes within the required time is a third-degree felony under Utah law. This applies whether a check-in was missed entirely or a change like a new phone number or vehicle was not reported within the 3-business-day window.
